Introduction & Objective: EKALAVYA is a forward-looking initiative by Madhya Pradesh aimed at recognizing and certifying informal and non-formal learning in alignment with the National Education Policy. It empowers individuals by validating their existing skills and knowledge, enabling them to pursue further education or employment opportunities with formal recognition.
Implementation Strategy: The program is managed by the Directorate of Skill Development through ITIs, with higher-level certifications handled by government polytechnics and engineering colleges. Individuals self-certify their skills via the SAMAGR eKYC platform, followed by verification from local bodies and technical vetting by experts. A comprehensive statewide skill survey will identify gaps and inform future development. Certified skills will be recognized at both state and national levels.
Expected Outcomes & Conclusion: EKALAVYA will enhance employability, educational access, and economic growth by formally acknowledging prior learning. It bridges the gap between existing skills and market needs while involving key stakeholders such as government bodies, educational institutions, industries, and community organizations. This initiative marks a significant step toward building a skilled and inclusive workforce in Madhya Pradesh.
